Regulations

1) Competition
The McLaren Shadow qualifier for Assetto Corsa Competizione will select the driver from the top of the event leaderboard to enter the McLaren Shadow finals in the UK.

2) Participation
In order to attend users are required to:
a) own Assetto Corsa Competizione on Steam
b) register to the leaderboard event at this link
c) have a driver profile in game with real Name and Surname
d) join the Special Event inside Assetto Corsa Competizione, named “McLaren Shadow”

3) Special Event Details
Car: McLaren 720S GT3
Track: Silverstone
Daytime: 18:00
Duration: 10 m 30 sec
Driving Assists: TC/ABS (No stability control, No ideal line, No automatic gearbox)
Goal: set the highest amount of laps in the shortest time
Setup: LOCKED (transgressors will be eliminated from the leaderboard)

4) Dates
The leaderboard will open on Oct. 27th at 3PM CEST (time may vary in case of technical issues) and close on Nov. 7th at 9PM CEST (time may vary in case of technical issues). The system has a backup recovery protection.

5) Victory
The pole man of the leaderboard will be selected (upon confirm) and brought to McLaren Technology Center for the attendance to the McLaren Shadow Finals, having then the possibility to compete for the final victory that will grant him a slot in the McLaren Shadow esports team as a professional player.

6) Driver Eligibility
A “Driver” is any person who is registered through the McLaren Shadow ACC website at leaderboard.mclarenshadow.com site during the McLaren Shadow Challenge. Drivers must be registered before the end of the Challenge November 7th in order to record their fastest hotstint session and be eligible to win. Drivers must meet the following requirements in their entirety to be eligible to compete. Drivers who do not meet these requirements will be deemed ineligible and will be removed from the McLaren Shadow Challenge.

Administration reserves the right to investigate Driver information when eligibility is in question. Drivers should be prepared to provide a copy of personal identification or other applicable documents to verify that these requirements are met.

6.1 Age
No Driver shall be considered eligible to participate in any McLaren Shadow-affiliated match before his or her 18th birthday, defined as having lived 18 full years.

6.2 Region & Residency
6.2.1 Resident Defined
For purposes of this Rule 3.2.1, a Driver is deemed to be a “Resident” of a region if such Driver resides in during the entirety of the time of the qualification process.
6.2.2 Certification of Residency
All Drivers shall certify their residency upon registration in the McLaren Shadow Challenge. Drivers may be asked for personal Identification to verify their region. For the avoidance of doubt, each Driver consents to the processing and or transfer of any personal identification by McLaren staff for administrative purposes. Each Driver is responsible for ensuring that they meet the residency requirements in this Rule 3.2. It shall be a violation of these rules if a Driver (or his or her parent or guardian) provides false, misleading or incomplete information resulting in the misclassification of such Driver’s residency and region. A violation of this Rule 3.2 by a Driver shall also be deemed a violation of Rule 2, and the disciplinary measures in Article 9 shall apply.
6.2.3 Proof of Residency
Any Driver over eighteen years of age may prove residency by the provision of documentary evidence sufficient to demonstrate actual residence in the region in which he or she wishes to play. Such documentary evidence may be in the form of one or more examples of:
Government Issued Documentation; A Driver may prove residency by providing copies of Government issued identification (such as, Drivers Licence, Passport, National Identification Cards)
Private Documentation; utility bills (such as gas, water, electricity, cable, or telephone, provided that all show levels of use consistent with actual residency), bank records and statements, tax returns, insurance documents, and employment records.
6.2.4 Losing Residency
For purposes of this Rule 3.2, a Driver who is considered a Resident for a region will no longer be deemed to be a “Resident” of that region if such Driver has been primarily present in another region for 12 months

6.3 Hardware & Software Requirements
A Driver is only eligible to participate in the McLaren Shadow Challenge if they have;
A gaming PC provided with Steam link download Steam

6.4 Employee Participation
Drivers may not be employees or family members of employees of KUNOS Simulazioni, 505 Games, AK Informatica, McLaren or any of their respective affiliates at the start of or at any point during the McLaren Shadow Challenge. “Affiliate” is defined as any person or other entity which property or controls, is under the ownership or control of, or is under common ownership or control with, an Owner. “Control” shall mean the power, through any means, to determine the policies or management of an entity, whether through the power to elect, appoint or approve, directly or indirectly, the directors, officers, managers or trustees of such entity or otherwise.

6.5 Eligibility & Availability
To be eligible drivers must be able to travel and attend the Finals Saturday 7th December – Thursday 12th December. Drivers must hold clean driving licenses to be able to compete in the McLaren Shadow Project Finals.

6.6 Winner contact
Upon being contacted as winner drivers have 72 hours to respond or risk forfeiting their prize.

7) Driver Restrictions

7.1 Driver Names
Driver Names may not contain any of the following: Obscene or suggestive language, Corporation, company, sponsor, product, or services names KUNOS Simulazioni, 505 Games, McLaren Shadow Challenge or any shorthand of the aforementioned McLaren Shadow challenge derivatives that may cause confusion during gameplay.

Administration reserves the right to restrict or change Team and Driver names for any reason.

7.2 Sponsorships
Involvement from sponsors that fall into the follow categories is strictly prohibited:

  • No alcohol, tobacco, cannabis or firearms
  • No gambling websites or casinos that promote free or pay services
  • No dating or personals sites
  • No adult products or services (Trojan, Viagra, etc.)
  • No debt services
  • No competitive gaming devices or services (Nintendo, Nintendo DS, PSP, PS3, PS4, etc.)
  • No online pharmacies
  • No religion or religious content
  • No political campaigns from candidates or issues
  • No adult content such as: excessive or distasteful language, nudity, overt/excessive sexuality images, or racy creative.
  • No violence such as: content that depicts decapitation, excessive blood splatter, killing, gore, cruelty, rape, molestation, child abuse, repeated blows or shots inflicted upon people/creatures, violent blows to the head, guns/weapons pointed at head, guns/weapons pointed toward reader/audience, depictions of fatal injuries, people/creatures on fire, etc.
  • No defamatory, libelous, slanderous, or unlawful content
  • No hate speech or discrimination
  • No profanity
  • No illegal activity

7.3 Changing Gamertags
Drivers who attempt to change Gamertags during an active series may not be able to participate in races. It is important that drivers do not change their gamertags during an active series to avoid loss of points and confusion.

7.4 Random picked participant
A random participant will be selected and allowed to attend the finals in McLaren Technology Center. It is a requisite to have a valid Hotstint with at least 5 laps and respect all the other terms of regulation. The random selection will be performed in the United Kingdom and methods will be published further on.
